U15s Boys County Age Group - 2022 Season Review & Award Winners

11 October 2022

The Under 15 County Age Group team played a lot of varying formats this year, including 50 over white ball, T20 as well as the 2 day format. With many players playing either U18 or U16, it gave opportunities for Development players to cut their teeth in the senior squad and develop their skills and understanding of the game. The 2022 season saw the team travel to Derbyshire, Devon and Wiltshire to name but a few, playing some 'old friends' and making new acquaintances.

Even though the outcomes on the field were mixed, some highlights involved our victory over Somerset, some hard hitting as well as excellent fielding across the board.  This season we welcomed some of the U14 squad who played up an age group and we are grateful for their contributions.  They certainly did not look out of place and look forward to seeing them excel next season.

U15s Manager Chris Germaine said its has been a fantastic season, even though a hectic one and we hope that the lads have developed their game, learnt lots and are looking forward to the 2023 season.

Performance of the Year

A player who performed well with the ball, was at times devastating with the bat, who had velcro hands who was not afraid to put his body on the line. For his 5 for 31 against Somerset at Great Rissington, the Performance of the Year for 2022 was awarded to Anir Sanat

Player of the Season

A young man who gave his all, the workhorse of the team, Mr Dependable.  Someone who preferred to play cricket rather than spend 2 weeks in the sun, who took every opportunity to play, a thinker and a leader.  The 2022 U15s Boys Player of the Season was awarded to Spencer Gammon
