Young Heading Back To Australia
3 October 2012
Ed Young flies to Australia today as the first of many Gloucestershire players set to spend part of the winter abroad.
The left-arm spinner is keen to repeat his experience of last winter Down Under when he was involved in some S.A.S type training as well as honing his cricketing skills.
Other Gloucestershire players bound for Australia in the coming weeks are Benny Howell, Jack Taylor and Cameron Herring.
Off to New Zealand are James Fuller, Paul Muchall and Ian Cockbain, while Gareth Roderick will be spending time in his native South Africa.
There is also a chance that Liam Norwell, Alex Gidman and Dan Housego might go abroad after Christmas as part of their preparations for the 2013 season.
Director of cricket John Bracewell explained: “With all the development work planned for the County Ground this winter the place is going to resemble a building site.
“That makes it sensible to get the players away if possible and we are pleased to have found opportunities for so many.”
Keep an eye on this website for regular blogs from the players on their winter activities.
