Worrall takes five wicket haul for South Australia
14 March 2018
South Australia 0 for 4 trail Western Australia 355 (Inglis 86, Cartwright 83, Turner 79, Worrall 5-72) by 351 runs
Gloucestershire's latest recruit Daniel (Franky) Worrall claimed five wickets for South Australia on a rollicking first day against Western Australia at Glenelg Oval in Adelaide.
Worrall reduced the visitors to 2 for 2 in the third over. He picked up Marcus Stoinis in the 11th before Joe Mennie removed D'Arcy Short to leave the Warriors 4 for 63.
But Ashton Turner and Hilton Cartwright resurrected the innings with a blistering 101-run stand in just 14 overs. Turner made 79 and Cartwright 83. Wicketkeeper Josh Inglis then picked up where they left off, smashing 86 late in the day to push the total up to 355. Worrall had Inglis caught in the deep for his fifth wicket.
South Australia were forced to face one over from Joel Paris, which Conor McInerney negotiated on his own.
