Will Pleased By Early Response

10 November 2013

Will Brown is delighted with the initial response to the new membership packages on offer for 2014.

The club's chief executive has been encouraged by early sales and believes a simplified structure is easier to understand and offers value to suit all pockets.

Will said: “We are really pleased with the response so far. Obviously people are still digesting the information, but already we are finding new customers who will be new spectators next season.

“I wanted to simplify our various membership packages. When I followed the club as a supporter I got confused by the various offers available.

“We only had two or three types of membership, but within them we had a whole framework of other things, with discounts and price variations.

“I think what we have done makes it easier for our supporters to see what is available and what they will get for their money.

“We have reduced the cost of junior membership because I am massively passionate about getting more young people into the ground and the increase in the cost of full membership is minimal considering the improved facilities, which will be available.”

Those new facilities include the Bristol Pavilion, opened towards the end of last season. The Grace Room, which has pitch views and balcony seating, will be open to members during 50-Over and LV= County Championship matches, with lunch bookings available.

The plush pavilion has enabled the club to offer a new Premier Club membership, open to individuals and businesses. Already 130 of the 180 places available have been taken up.

“That has proved immensely popular and those members will have an unrivaled view of the cricket from our new Executive Lounge,” said Will.

“We also have our Twenty20 Plus membership, which has come out of a lot of research by the England and Wales Cricket Board, as well as the club.

“People were buying tickets for five or six T20 games without taking out a membership because the timings of the matches did not suit them.

“The new membership package covers all T20 home fixtures whenever they are played plus any LV=County Championship and 50-over group games on weekend days.”

Membership figures stood at around 2,000 for Gloucestershire last season and Will is confident of seeing that figure rise.
