25 September 2013
Will Gidman took his tally of first class wickets this summer to 53 by claiming 4-64 as Gloucestershire hit back strongly on the second day of the LV=County Championship match with Glamorgan at Cardiff.
The visitors added 47 to their overnight score of 228-8 before being bowled out for 275, Tom Smith celebrating his new three-year contract with the club by making 31 not out.
Then Gidman led the way as Glamorgan were retricted to 271-9 in reply, young left-arm seamer Matt Taylor taking 3-98 and Graeme McCarter 2-35 from 14 overs.
Jim Allenby hit 85 and Chris Cooke 50, while Chris Dent took four catches. Gidman's figures came from 18 overs, which included three maidens.
Glamorgan were 244-9 at one stage before Dean Cosker and Michael Hogan put together an unbroken last wicket stand of 27 to give their team a chance of gaining first innings lead.
