Will Among The Wickets Again
26 May 2014
Will Gidman took his tally of LV=County Championship wickets for the season to 25 as Gloucestershire bowled out Derbyshire for 278 on the second day of the match at Derby.
The all-rounder finished with 4-50 from 25 overs after the hosts had added 112 to their overnight total of 166-6 and is already halfway towards matching his haul of wickets in the competition last summer.
Benny Howell also claimed two second day victims to return 4-60 from 29 overs. But valuable contributions from Scott Elstone (63) and David Wainwright (54 not out) enabled Derbyshire to take two batting points.
Gloucestershire's reply had reached 21 without loss when rain ended play prematurely for the day.
Michael Klinger (12 not out) and Chris Dent (8 not out) will be looking to help their side build a first innings lead tomorrow in the hope of forcing a second successive Championship win.
