What an innings! Gloucestershire Cricket and amber energy enter fifth year of working together
5 May 2021
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and amber energy, the Cardiff-based energy management consultancy, are celebrating a successful partnership that has spanned four years and seen the club save 18% on their electricity costs compared to their previous supplier tariff.
amber energy has been a strategic partner of Gloucestershire Cricket since May 2017, working closely to ensure it uses energy as efficiently as possible at its home at the Bristol County Ground.
Luke Roberts, Account Manager at amber energy, said:
“Sports venues have been hit particularly hard during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we’ve all witnessed how the lack of fans in stadiums have affected the usually electric atmosphere during matches. It’s arguably never been more important for teams like Gloucestershire Cricket to keep control over their variable costs - like gas and electricity - while planning for a comeback once social distancing rules allow.
“Our business is heavily focused on sustainability and working towards a truly net zero emissions future. Organisations like Gloucestershire Cricket, which provide inspiration to so many others - whether in their local communities, or globally as part of the international reach of cricket - play a pivotal role in this.
“We believe in mutual success - when our clients win, we win, and the environment wins - and Gloucestershire Cricket is a perfect example of how the best partnerships are built on long-term collaboration.”
Joe Kaniecki, Business Development Manager at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, said:
“The Club’s vision is to develop a culture of cricketing excellence from the grassroots of the game to the professional elite. Sitting at the heart of our communities, we seek to provide inspirational facilities, become an innovative environmental force for good and create lifelong positive memories for everyone we come into contact with.
“Gloucestershire Cricket has an ambitious goal to ensure the Bristol County Ground will be the most environmentally considerate and sustainable cricket venue in the country. Our mission is to at all times reflect the views and values of our local communities. We need to recognise the passions of our communities and stakeholders and reflect them in our infrastructure, visuals and customer experience.
"Working with amber energy will help to reflect this strategy, to ensure our energy suppliers match our objectives to be as environmentally considerate as possible. We know that amber energy shares our passion and commitment and they continue to be an excellent partner for the club.”
