Gloucestershire Cricket has strengthened its partnership with Walker Logistics who have become the Club’s Talent Pathway front of shirt sponsor for the 2022 season.
The family-owned business has sponsored Gloucestershire players Chris Dent and Glenn Phillips previously and this season, they will be supporting the next generation of talented young cricketers. The Walker Logistics logo will be present on all Talent Pathway shirts from under 10s to under 18s and the Academy.
The new shirt for the 2022 season will first be on display when 15 Academy and county age group players tour Sri Lanka in February. The select group of cricketers will visit Colombo, Kandy, Waskaduwa and Galle where they will play five matches alongside 15 players from the Gloucestershire County Girls Programme.
The Berkshire based organisation specialises in warehousing, fulfilment & distribution with a headquarters in Membury, Berkshire. Already in 2022, Walker Logistics has delivered to over 80 countries worldwide and processed over 175,000 orders.
William Walker, Managing Director at Walker Logistics said:
“We are delighted to sponsor Gloucestershire Cricket’s Talent Pathway and look forward to seeing the best youth players in the county wearing their new shirt for the 2022 season.
“Supporting sport in the areas where our clients are based is something we are passionate about and partnering with a club that does so much for young people in their communities is a huge source of pride for us.”
Walker Logistics’ connection with Gloucestershire Cricket reaches beyond business with William Walker an avid cricket fan and Frederick Gillespie-Walker, the latest family member to join the business as a customer services executive, a keen cricketer who previously represented the Club at youth level.
Neil Priscott, Commercial and Marketing Director at Gloucestershire Cricket said:
“This is the first time we’ve ever had a front of shirt sponsor for our Talent Pathway and working with our new clothing partner New Balance Teamsports, we’re excited that our young players will be playing in the same kit as our elite squad.
“It’s because of support from companies like Walker Logistics, we can offer an exceptional playing programme to the next generation of Gloucestershire Cricketing talent.”
