van Buuren seals tour sweep
25 March 2019
A superb score of 115 runs from all-rounder Graeme van Buuren helped secure the three match 50 over series sweep over Glamorgan in Gloucestershire's pre-season tour of La Manga.
After winning the toss, Gloucestershire, led by Jack Taylor decided to have a bat first. Miles Hammond and Will Tavare opened the batting for Gloucestershire in the final fixture, and they got off to a quick start, with Will Tavare smashing a six in the opening over.
Miles Hammond made a quick 41 before being caught off the bowling of van der Gugten, shortly after Benny Howell was joined by Jack Taylor at the crease. Taylor got off to a flying start and reached his half century in style by crunching a maximum.

Great way to bring up the half century @jacktaylor141 🚀#GoGlos https://t.co/zcXOskTyCg
Graeme van Buuren was in fine form with the bat, smashing his way to an impressive 115 and steering Gloucestershire into a solid total score of 384/8.
Batting scorecard below
Glamorgan had nothing in reply to Gloucestershire's mammoth total. Throughout the tour, the Gloucestershire bowling attack have been too much to handle for the Welsh side, and this was evident after Matt Taylor ripped through the top order to claim three wickets in the opening 10 overs. Taylor ended the Glamorgan innings with 4 wickets.
It was very much van Buuren's day as he claimed two wickets to go alongside his century. George Drissell also took a couple of wickets and all-rounder Benny Howell and bowler David Payne got a wicket each.
It was one hell of a way to end the tour as the Shire won by 194 runs after dismissing Glamorgan for 194 all out!
Three terrific victories for Gloucestershire put them in a great position heading into the season, which begins on Thursday 11 April against Derbyshire in a Specsavers County Championship fixture at the Brightside Ground.

On Friday 5 April, Gloucestershire take on Oxford MCCU in a three day University match at the Brightside Ground. We can't wait to see you all in Bristol.
