Tye looking forward to T20 home debut against Glamorgan this Friday
7 June 2016
After helping Gloucestershire to two NatWest T20 Blast wins in his first two games, Australian international fast bowler Andrew Tye says he is looking forward to making his home debut against Glamorgan this Friday.
The floodlit match starts at 6.30pm and tickets are still available at www.gloscricket.co.uk/tickets
- On playing at the Brightside Ground, Bristol for the first time..."I am looking forward to playing my first game at Bristol. My first impressions are that it’s a lovely ground and hopefully we can get out there and entertain the crowd on Friday night."
- On his first two games for Gloucestershire..."I was very happy to get the wins. It’s been a good start to the competition but there’s still things we can work on. I am really looking forward to us hitting our straps and improving as we go on through the competition. The spirit’s there in the dressing room and I’m expecting good things from the lads."
- On coming up against Glamorgan and their South African fast bowler Dale Steyn... "Glamorgan will be a tough challenge especially with two of my former team mates Dale Steyn and Michael Hogan in the side.On the field Dale is a fierce competitor and hates losing. He’s got a good slower ball, and hits his yorkers like most other bowlers but he just bowls a yard quicker than anyone else. Off the field he is as soft as a teddy bear – he will probably kill me that I’ve said that and I will probably get a bouncer on Friday night now!"
