Two new partnerships for Western Storm

15 August 2017

The 2017 Kia Super League is now underway and those who saw the curtain raiser between Western Storm and Southern Vipers last week will have seen some new names on the Storm shirts.

This season’s competition has seen Western Storm team up with Somerset County Sports and Wollen Michelmore Solicitors with both organisations names featuring prominently on the Storms new playing kit.

Somerset County Sports have a long history of supporting cricket in the County and have also worked closely with some of the biggest names in the women’s game as Managing Director Richard Brice explains. “In the past we have sponsored Anya Shrubsole and are delighted to be working with Fran Wilson and Katherine Brunt in 2017,” he said. “We are delighted to be an official partner of Western Storm. The popularity of the women’s game is at an all-time high after England’s World Cup win and it is a privilege to be involved in the 2017 Kia Super League.”

Wollen Michelmore Chief Executive Chris Hart said: “There is a real buzz around women’s cricket at the moment and it is great to be a part of that. As well as having some of the best international talent in the squad the Western Storm promote and develop local talent which is what is so appealing to us. We look forward to a successful campaign with the team in 2017.”

Western Storm General Manager Lisa Pagett said: “It’s great to have two new partners on board for this season. Somerset County Sports and Wollen Michelmore are leaders in their fields and we are extremely grateful for the support that they have given us. The 2017 Kia Super League is set to be even bigger and better than last year so we are looking forward to being able to provide them with plenty of positive exposure.”
