Tom Smith wins PCA Outstanding Contribution Award
3 October 2023
Gloucestershire bowler Tom Smith was awarded the PCA Outstanding Contribution Award at the annual Professional Cricketers' Association awards evening last night.
Tom, 36, was recognised at the awards ceremony in London for his selflessness and dedication in turning tragedy in his own life into creating a positive change for all other members.
Following the death of his wife, Laura, in 2018, Tom has played a vital role in advocating for funding to support players with critical illness cover and has campaigned to make his fellow professionals aware of the benefits of appropriate life cover.
As a result of Tom's tireless work, all current male and females now benefit from additional cover and funding.
Everyone at Gloucestershire Cricket would like to wish Tom a huge congratulations and thank him for his incredible contribution to the PCA.
