Team make festive delivery to local children's hospital

20 December 2016

The Gloucestershire Cricket team recently paid a special visit to a local children’s hospital to make a festive delivery.

Players and coaches dropped off five boxes of gifts to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children. The toys were kindly donated by local business Finders Keepers and Totally Toys who are based on Gloucester Road.

The toys will be given out on Christmas Day and also shared amongst the youngsters throughout the festive period.

The Children’s ward will be at full capacity over Christmas with many children and their families spending the festive period at the hospital. We hope the delivery of gifts will bring a little festive joy.

Bristol born Chris Dent was joined by his team-mates David Payne, Callum Gregory, Craig Miles, Matt Taylor and Will Tavare alongside Assistant Coach Ian Harvey to make the delivery.

Gloucestershire Cricket Board member Andy Brassington, who made the donation for the gifts on behalf of his business Finders Keepers said “It's a pleasure to help out at this difficult time for the kids and their families.

“Playing professional sport is a great honour for any person and I know that the time the Gloucestershire young cricketers spend with the poorly children will be very inspiring to see their bravery and courage”

Everyone from Gloucestershire Cricket would like to wish the staff and children at the hospital a Merry Christmas.
