Taylor Top Scores To Put Seconds In Command

11 June 2013

Jack Taylor top scored with 61 as Gloucestershire ran up 304-8 on a rain-interrupted second day of the Second XI Championship match with Kent at Bristol Cricket Club.
Only 40 overs were possible after the hosts resumed their first innings on 129-3 in reply to Kent's 218.

By stumps Gloucestershire had built a lead of 86, thanks largely to Taylor, who is playing in the game as a batsman. There were also valuable contributions from Will Tavare (43) and Jack Butler (29).

Graeme McCarter had taken 5-53 as Gloucestershire bowled out Kent for on the opening day.

The Irishman was well supported by Scott Phillips (2-39), Tom Shrewsbury (1-14), Matt Taylor (1-37) and Paul Muchall (1-43), while Liam Norwell also bowled well without any luck.

The Gloucestershire team is: Will Tavare, Richard Coughtrie, Ian Cockbain, Cameron Herring, Jack Taylor, Paul Muchall, Scott Phillips, Graeme McCarter, Tom Shrewsbury, Matt Taylor, Liam Norwell.
