Spotlight on Mike Procter: A Tribute to a Gloucestershire Legend
20 February 2025
One year on from the death of Gloucestershire great Mike Procter, a commemorative publication celebrating his life and career is now available to purchase for £7 in the Club shop.
Proceeds from all sales will go directly to the GCCC Heritage Trust and the Mike Procter Foundation.
The book will feature recollections and memories from Procter’s teammates and friends in both the UK and South Africa, shining a light on his remarkable playing career — particularly his time with Gloucestershire, where he became one of the county’s most iconic players and captains.
Alongside a look back at his greatest moments on the field, the publication will also explore Procter's enduring legacy beyond cricket, including the formation of the Mike Procter Foundation, which focuses on supporting underprivileged communities.
Chair of the GCCC Heritage Trust Wendy Body, said:
"This tribute to former captain Mike Procter celebrates his achievements on and off the field while supporting two truly worthy causes.
"I'm pleased we were able to collect memories of Mike from some of those who knew him best in both the UK and South Africa. I'm sure every GCCC supporter that has fond memories of Mike will enjoy reminiscing with the help of our book."
