21 March 2014
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce a major new partnership with Spire The Glen Hospital, Bristol, as its Healthcare Sponsor for a three year deal, that will see healthcare brought to the forefront of the Club’s agenda.
As the largest private hospital in the South West, located in the heart of Bristol City, Spire The Glen’s association with Gloucestershire Cricket is a valuable link in the community that will see more awareness of important health issues amongst the cricket community. The hospital’s £13 million investment over the last 5 years, ensures the very best facilities and equipment are available for the hospital’s world class consultants and highly trained nursing staff. From complex major surgery to the simplest of procedures, patients at Spire The Glen can be confident in receiving the highest levels of care in clean, comfortable surroundings whether they have private medical insurance or are self-funding. Furthermore, The Glen will also be opening a new Radiotherapy Centre this spring providing a complete care pathway for cancer patients from diagnosis through to treatment. Gloucestershire Cricket sees this deal with Spire the Glen as a significant partnership, for the Club, its players and members.
The announcement of this important new partnership comes as Gloucestershire Cricket sees an increase in its membership for the 2014 season, while pushing ahead with its redevelopment of the Bristol County Ground. Work on the new Bristol Pavilion (including a state-of-the-art conference and media centre) was completed in August 2013 and a new stand, which will offer just under 4,000 permanent seats in addition to the Club’s existing seating, is scheduled to be ready ahead of the England v India Royal London One-Day International in August of 2014.
Rob Anderson, Hospital Director, said: “We are delighted to be playing a part in the on-going success of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club. Successful teams depend on the availability of fit and healthy players and we are committed to working with the Club to help achieve this. Supporting sport in Bristol and the South West is important to us and our commitment to Bristol Rugby Club and now Gloucestershire County Cricket Club helps to ensure the very best sporting action for the coming season.”
Lizzie Archer, Gloucestershire Cricket’s Corporate Sales Manager, added: “We are thrilled to announce this new partnership with such a pro-active, forward thinking healthcare provider at what is a very exciting time for Gloucestershire Cricket. We are very grateful for the support from Spire The Glen Hospital, Bristol and look forward to working closely with them to benefit both our members and their hospital community.”
