Second Xi Game Washed Out
13 June 2013
Not a ball was bowled on the final day of the Second XI game between Gloucestershire and Kent at Bristol Cricket Club.
The hosts were due to resume on 304-8 in their first innings, replying to 218. But the match was abandoned as a draw.
Jack Taylor had top scored with 61 on a rain-interrupted second day. Only 40 overs were possible, but by stumps Gloucestershire had built a lead of 86, thanks largely to Taylor, who was playing in the game as a batsman. There were also valuable contributions from Will Tavare (43) and Jack Butler (29).
Graeme McCarter had taken 5-53 as Gloucestershire bowled out Kent for on the opening day.
The Irishman was well supported by Scott Phillips (2-39), Tom Shrewsbury (1-14), Matt Taylor (1-37) and Paul Muchall (1-43), while Liam Norwell also bowled well without any luck.
The Gloucestershire team was: Will Tavare, Richard Coughtrie, Ian Cockbain, Cameron Herring, Jack Taylor, Paul Muchall, Scott Phillips, Graeme McCarter, Tom Shrewsbury, Matt Taylor, Liam Norwell.
