REPORT: Torrential rain washes out Taunton T20
21 July 2017
Gloucestershire's Nat West T20 Blast match against Somerset in the South Group was abandoned at Taunton this evening without a ball being bowled.
The forecast for the evening had been poor for several days ahead of the match, and the heavy rain started to form puddles on the outfield three hours before the scheduled start.
It was a formality for umpires Martin Saggers and Ben Debenham to make a cursory inspection at 5pm and decide that with rain still falling no play would be possible.

Both sides take one point, and will hope for better weather for the return fixture at the Brightside Ground on Friday August 4th. The match is already sold out, but tickets are still available for the two home matches next week, on Tuesday July 25th against Glamorgan and on Friday July 28th against Hampshire. Both matches start at 6.30.
