Red ball captain Graeme van Buuren signs new deal until end of 2026

Gloucestershire Cricket can confirm that all-rounder Graeme van Buuren has signed a contract extension with the Club that will keep him at the Seat Unique Stadium until the end of the 2026 season.
The 33-year-old has entered his ninth season with Glos and third captaining the side in the Vitality County Championship.
On his new deal, van Buuren said:
"It's an amazing feeling to be extending my time with Glos. My family and I love being in Bristol and are really happy that Gloucestershire will continue to be our home.
We've made some amazing friends in the last nine years and are looking forward to that continuing for at least another two seasons."
During his time with Gloucestershire, South African-born van Buuren has amassed over 4,000 runs across all formats and taken 91 wickets.
His five red ball Gloucestershire hundreds places him towards the top of the Club’s County Championship run-getters in recent years, helped also by his impressive 2023 campaign in which he scored 461 runs at an average of 51.22.
His One-Day Cup century against Northants last season kickstarted Shire’s run to the competition’s semi-final, with the all-rounder also taking three wickets during the group stages.
Van Buuren is just 22 runs short of 3,000 first-class runs for Gloucestershire and could surpass the milestone when Yorkshire visit the Seat Unique Stadium in the County Championship on Friday.
Gloucestershire Cricket Head Coach, Mark Alleyne, said:
"I'm so happy another Gloster has extended their stay with the Club.
"Our ambitions lie well beyond this year, and we will need the quality of Graeme as a player to mount this challenge.
He brings a brilliant tenacity and tempo to the batting group, and with his leadership skills we have secured another stellar performer in our driven bid to become glorious."
