Pre-Match Music Acts | Glos v Somerset
30 June 2021
The Club are pleased to announce that two more locally based music acts will be performing on our new stage prior to the start of play.
A growing relationship with BIMM Bristol has allowed us to showcase Bristol’s best new up-and-coming artists. Different acts will perform live at all T20 matches in Bristol this year.
Tomorrow's acts:
Joey Gardiner
At only the age of 19, Joey Gardiner has already started knocking at the music industry’s door self-proclaiming that ‘early 1975 vibes’ was the aim, and a key influence on his body of work. Whilst the conventions and feel of young, indie bedroom pop are there, the rule breaking shines through as his catalogue takes on a more rough and ready feel with a nod to some darker subjects such as mental health and addiction.
After releasing debut single ‘ME’, it’s clear he’s been met with a great response from the South West audience with none other than This County’s Paul Cooper giving him full support. Now, onto the next stage of his developing career, he’s preparing to release a new single: ‘Pain.’ The track is a melting pot of rap, drums, guitars and sax all glued together by his impressive lyrical skill. The idea of producing music in your bedroom and melting genres together has never been more prevalent in this current era, with Joey Gardiner being a big example. Along with his talented musicianship he is also a confident live performer and looking forward to touring the country.
Hannah Lou Reid
Hannah Lou Reid is a Singer Songwriter from Plymouth but has been based in Bristol for the last two years whilst undertaking a songwriting degree at BIMM Bristol and is currently about to enter her third year. Hannah has loved music from a very early age and relishes opportunities to perform and create her own music.
In 2018 her first album “Advice” was recognised by the University of Arts, London where Hannah received the top award for Music Production and Performance – followed by a live rendition of her entire album at the Trueman Breweries Arts Centres’ “Creative Arts Festival”. In 2020 she released her second album, “Confident” and really showed what can be achieved in lockdown.
