15 October 2020
On this day in 2019, Gloucestershire Cricket announced the signing of all-rounder George Scott on a three-year deal from Middlesex.
Scott, who is a right-hand bat and medium-fast bowler, joined the Club from Middlesex after spending four seasons with the London based team.
In Scott's first season with The Shire, he played in both formats that were played in the shortened season.
In the Bob Willis Trophy, George played in four of the five matches; the first match of the season against Worcestershire being the only red ball match he missed. In total he took three wickets in the 44 overs that he bowled and averaged 21.75 coming in to bat at number eight.
In the Vitality Blast, Scott played in seven of the 11 matches that Gloucestershire played in the successful campaign that led us to Finals Day. In the competition, Scott took one wicket in the four overs he bowled. With the bat, he had an impressive strike rate of 131.25, with a top score of 33 which included three four's and one six coming in the home defeat to Glamorgan at the Bristol County Ground.
