England v Australia - ODI Ticket Rollover Offer to 2021

We wanted to provide an update as to the status of the England v Australia One Day International, originally scheduled to take place at the Bristol County Ground on Thursday 16th July.

We can confirm that, for those ticket purchasers who do not wish to rollover their order to 2021, a full refund will be provided. Please note, however, that in order to assist their processing arrangements, the ECB have confirmed to us that refunds will not be made available until at least the date when the match was due to take place and possibly not until August 2020.  Additionally, the ECB have confirmed that the centrally insured ticket refund scheme can only process the refunds if and when it is confirmed that the match cannot take place with spectators this summer. This means that applicable refunds are likely to be processed in August once any rescheduling plans – with or without spectators – have been confirmed. Should the match be rescheduled this summer with spectators permitted to attend, and a ticket holder does not wish to attend a revised date, they will also be entitled to a refund.  Apologies for this delay and thank you very much for your understanding in bearing with us in this exceptional year.

We have naturally received a number of enquiries from ticket purchasers about possible next steps. We would like today to confirm you now have an opportunity to take up a special offer from Gloucestershire Cricket: should the England v Australia One Day International not take place at our venue this year you now have the option to ‘rollover’ your One Day International ticket purchase to next year’s ODI at the Bristol County Ground.

The number of entrants to the ballot for the opportunity to see the World Champions in Bristol this year broke all Club records; we also saw the quickest sell-out of a match at the Bristol County Ground in the Club’s history.  In order to ‘beat the ballot’ and jump the queue for 2021, therefore, we are offering all ticket purchasers the opportunity to rollover their ticket(s) and seat(s) for the England v Sri Lanka ODI, which will take place in Bristol in late June or early July 2021.

If you apply for the rollover, and attend the ODI in Bristol next year, you will receive a £10 voucher for each ticket purchased, to spend at any outlet in the ground on the day. It is our way of thanking you for your commitment and ongoing support of both England Cricket and the Bristol County Ground as the host venue. It will also guarantee your seat for a match that we anticipate will sell-out quickly when it goes on general sale later in the year.

The specific date of the England v Sri Lanka ODI will not be known until later this year, but should you apply to ‘rollover’ your tickets from this year to next and then are unable to attend on the confirmed date in 2021, a full refund would of course be made available to you at that point.

To recap:

1. We’re inviting you to ‘rollover’ your 2020 One Day International ticket purchase at the Bristol County Ground to the 2021 ODI at Bristol between England and Sri Lanka.
2. Should you choose to rollover your ODI purchase, you will be guaranteed your seat(s) at the Bristol County Ground and you will also qualify for a £10 voucher per ticket bought, to be spent on the day of the 2021 ODI in any outlet around the Ground.
3. If you choose to rollover your purchase to 2021, but then cannot subsequently make the date when it is confirmed later this year, you would be entitled to a full refund of the ticket value, provided you let us know in writing by 31 January 2021
4. Should you want a refund of your 2020 purchase instead of a rollover to the 2021 ODI, you will be refunded in full but not until at least Thursday 16th July 2020 and possibly not until August. You do not need to take any action at this stage with regards to a refund. Refunds will be of the ticket value.
