One Day Cup Quarter-Final Preview | Gloucestershire vs Lancashire

Gloucestershire host a Metro Bank One Day Cup quarter-final against Lancashire tomorrow (Friday) with a place in the semi-final up for grabs.
A trip to Leicestershire in the last four on Tuesday (29th August) awaits for the winner, and Dale Benkenstein will be hoping his side will be able to continue their good form to secure a place in the next round.
Gloucestershire secured a home quarter-final after beating Durham by seven wickets at the Seat Unique Stadium on Tuesday, their sixth win from eight matches in Group B. Lancashire, meanwhile finished in third place in Group A having accumulated four wins from their eight matches.

Team news
Dale Benkenstein selects a fifteen-player squad for Shire’s crucial knockout round match.
Ireland international Harry Tector has returned to Gloucestershire and is available for selection for as long as Shire remain in the One Day Cup. Experienced seam bowler David Payne is also included in the squad to face Lancashire following Welsh Fire's elimination from The Hundred earlier this week.
The only other change from the squad that faced Durham is the inclusion of Joe Phillips. He replaces Chris Dent who is not available for selection due to personal reasons.
Ben Charlesworth (knee) and Matt Taylor (toe) remains sidelined while Ajeet Singh Dale (thigh), Ben Wells (hamstring) and Marchant de Lange (quad) will not feature again this season.

Last time out
Gloucestershire made it six wins from eight matches in Group B with a commanding seven wicket victory over Durham. Batter Ben Wells starred with a terrific 108* from 76 balls.
Wells' innings was backed up brilliantly by Ollie Price who scored 85 and James Bracey with 53, as Gloucestershire recovered well from 85-3 to 269-3.
Durham's innings was stunted by Gloucestershire's bowling attack who as a unit took all 10 wickets. Overseas bowler Anwar Ali was the pick of the bowlers with 3-21 while Paul van Meekeren added another two wickets to his impressive tally for the competition.

Lancashire won their last three One-Day Cup fixtures against Nottinghamshire, Middlesex and Surrey to secure their qualification for the quarter-final stage.
In their last match, a seven-wicket victory over Notts, Keaton Jennings starred with the bat with 103* as Will Williams with three wickets and Tom Bailey, Jack Morley and George Balderson with two wickets apiece guided the away side to victory.
Lancashire's only two defeats in the One Day Cup so far this seaosn have come against teams about them in the table; Hampshire and Leicestershire.
Last meeting
Gloucestershire last faced Lancashire in List A cricket in July 2021 in the Royal London One Day Cup. A Danny Lamb five-for helped Lancashire towards a six-wicket victory on that day two years ago while Matt Taylor (51*) high scored for Gloucestershire.
A number of Shire players that played in the match in 2021 are included in the squad for tomorrow's match vs Lancashire and will be looking make amends.
