One Day Cup Preview | Glamorgan vs Gloucestershire

Gloucestershire get their Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign underway against Glamorgan on Thursday 25th July.
Mark Thorburn’s side go into the tournament curtain-raiser riding a wave of momentum having secured a Vitality Blast quarter-final place last week.
The trip to Cardiff is the first of four away and four home matches in the 50-over competition in which Gloucestershire will be hoping to once qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
In last year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup, Gloucestershire won six of their eight group games and progressed all the way to the semi-final stage having beat Lancashire in Bristol in the quarter-finals. In the semi-final vs Leicestershire, the hosts won by a six-wicket margin and went on to lift the trophy in the final at Trent Bridge.

Mark Thorburn selects a 14-player squad for the trip to Glamorgan.
Jack Taylor captains the side that features youngsters Joe Phillips, Ed Middleton and Dom Goodman. Zafar Gohar and Tom Price both remain unavailable as they continue to recover from long-term injuries.
Bowlers David Payne, Marchant de Lange and Matt Taylor are all unavailable due to their involvement in the Hundred.

OUR OPPONENTS
Glamorgan go into the match having experienced a strong finish to their Vitality Blast campaign, winning three of their last five matches to ultimately finish in sixth place, just two points of quarter-final qualification. Their last win of the tournament was a 120-run thrashing of Somerset in Cardiff.
In last year’s Metro Bank One Day Cup campaign, Glamorgan finished in fourth place in Group B with four wins from eight matches.
