Octopus Investments sponsor Gloucestershire CCC
7 May 2013
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce a major new partnership with Octopus Investments.
Founded in 2000, Octopus has rapidly grown to become one of the UK’s leading retail investment managers. It currently manages over £3 billion assets on behalf of 50,000 customers, and works closely with more than 3,000 financial advisers and wealth managers across the UK.
The announcement of the new partnership comes as Gloucestershire pushes ahead with its redevelopment of the County Ground at Nevil Road in Bristol. Work on a new-look pavilion and state-of-the-art media centre and business centre is well under way and due for completion this summer, and a new stand with 5,000 permanent seats will be built ready for the England v India one day International in 2014.
The sponsorship includes branding at Gloucestershire Cricket’s matches at Bristol and hospitality and tickets at major matches this summer. These will include FL t20 games, the tourist match against Australia “A” and England Lions v Bangladesh “A” at Bristol in August. In addition, Octopus will be using the business centre in the new Pavilion for conferences and other events for its clients in and around Bristol.
Tim Davies, Commercial Director of Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “We are delighted to announce this new partnership at what is a very exciting time for Gloucestershire Cricket. We are very grateful for this support from Octopus Investments and look forward to hosting them at Bristol.”
Michael Piddock, Marketing Director of Octopus Investments, said: “We’re pleased to be partnering Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and continuing to grow our involvement with the game, in its t20 format in particular. Gloucestershire is an ambitious club looking to forge strong ties with businesses, and the South West represents an important region for Octopus, so it’s a great fit.”
