Now Miles Makes Mark In Test Arena

Gloucestershire off-spinner Miles Hammond has played a leading role in giving England Under-19s the upper hand in the First Test against South Africa Under-19s in Cape Town.

At the end of the second day the tourists are in control, having made 313 in their first innings and bowled their hosts out for 194 in reply.

Miles, who was chosen ahead of Gloucestershire team-mate Tom Shrewsbury, helped England recover from 89-5 with a really resuloute innings of 39, going in at number nine.

The Cheltenham-born teenager shared an eighth-wicket stand of 90 with centurion Ed Barnard before being last man out, having faced 124 balls and hit 3 fours.

Not content with that, Miles then took 2-25 from 11 overs as South Africa were bowled out 119 short of England's total.

The tourists ended the second day on 24 without loss in their second innings. leading by 143.
