Dent got off to a flying start in the Bob Willis Trophy, scoring an impressive 92 runs from 183 balls in his first innings back after the delayed start to the 2020 season. In the second innings, he would go on to score another half-century with 67 off 133 balls.

In the Vitality Blast, Dent had the tough task of replacing Gloucestershire legend Michael Klinger opening the batting with Miles Hammond. He was playing T20 cricket for the first time since the 2016 season but his performances in the competition answered any doubts about his ability to score runs in the shortest format.

He scored a total of 371 runs in the Vitality Blast, only 28 runs short of Ian Cockbain. Dent averaged 33.72 with an impressive strike rate of 153.30. He hit the most fours for the Club in the competition with a staggering 48 to his name, 17 more fours than second placed Cockbain.

Dent has certainly put forward a strong case to feature at the top of the T20 batting order for Gloucestershire as we look to reach Finals Day once again in 2021.

Chris finished top of the pecking order for total runs scored across the Bob Willis Trophy and Vitality Blast with 541 runs.
