Neil Priscott appointed Interim CEO at Gloucestershire Cricket
19 June 2024
Gloucestershire Cricket is pleased to confirm the appointment of Neil Priscott as the Club’s Interim CEO.
Neil’s appointment comes following an internal interview process and sees Neil, previously Chief Operating Officer, take up the role of Interim CEO with immediate effect.
Outgoing Chief Executive, Will Brown, will leave his role at Gloucestershire on Sunday 30th June, day one of the County Championship match against Glamorgan at Cheltenham College.
Having joined Gloucestershire in June 2019 as Commercial and Marketing Director, Neil has held a number of senior positions within the Club over the last five years. Most recently, Neil has led the Club’s operational activities and has played an instrumental role in expanding the Club’s non-matchday events such as the hugely successful Evolution Drone Shows. Neil is also on the board of trustees at the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Prior to joining Gloucestershire, Neil was Head of Marketing at Bath Tourism Plus and previous to that, enjoyed a 14-year career at the MCC as Head of Media and Communications.
Speaking of his excitement at being appointment Interim CEO at Gloucestershire, Neil said: “I’m grateful to Will for all his support over the years and I am proud, privileged and excited to get going as Interim CEO.
“I want to make sure we continue to build momentum on and off the field and strive for excellence in everything we do, and I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Acting Chair, Steve Nelson, added: “I’m really pleased to appoint Neil as Interim CEO, the Board feel Neil is absolutely the right person to guide us through this incredibly important time for the Club through to the end of the season.
“It’s incredibly important to keep the momentum going and continue with some of the great work that has taken place so far this year across all areas of the Club.
“Will has been a fantastic asset to Gloucestershire throughout the 11 years he has held the role of CEO and I’d like to thank him for all his hard work, dedication and loyalty to the Club. Everyone at Gloucestershire wishes Will the very best for the future.”
The process of open recruitment for a permanent CEO will begin following the conclusion of the recruitment process for a new Chair, which is now live and is expected to be finalised towards the end of August.
Elected Board member, David Graveney, meanwhile, has been appointed by the Board to continue in his role at least until the next AGM when he will be up for re-election. After five years on the Board, Rebecca Watkin has stood down with immediate effect and her replacement will be confirmed following the conclusion of the process to appoint a new elected Board member, the application process for which closes on Friday 21st June.
Building on last night’s meeting with Members, the Board is committed to providing the Membership with regular opportunities to meet with the Board and the executive in the future, and is looking forward to continuing to work well with the Members’ Working Group.
