Miles Hammond was named Junior Sportsperson of the Year at the 2013 Oxfordshire Sports Awards
The 17-year-old Gloucestershire off-spinner was educated at St Edward’s School, Oxford. He left this weekend with the England Under-19 squad for a Tri-nations tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
The nomination for his award mentioned Miles's first class debut for Gloucestershire this year and his selection for England Under-19s.
The awards are run by the Oxfordshire Sports Partnership, with the Oxford Mail as official media partners.
Gloucestershire Academy Director Owen Dawkins said: “I'm delighted for Miles. He has worked hard all season and this is another feather in his cap.”
