Scoring 654 runs in the T20 competition, three 100's which included a top score of 126 not out against Essex at the Bristol County Ground. He ended the competition with an average of 81.75. A thrilling performance was guaranteed when he was at the crease.

Secondly, Michael picked up the Player of the Year award for the Royal London One-Day Cup. Once again, he was hugely impressive in the 50 over competition which saw him put in a memorable winning performance in the semi-final against Yorkshire.

Only being back in the UK from Australia a matter of days, he produced one of the best performances of his career, scoring 137 at Headingley infront of a packed out stadium. His performance earned huge applause from the home Yorkshire supporters aswell as the ecstatic Gloucestershire travelling fans. The win sent Gloucestershire into the final which the team won at Lord's.

Michael ended the 50 over competition with an average of 106 runs and was clearly the outstanding performer in the competition.
