Michael Klinger's thoughts on joining GCCC

19 December 2012

Gloucestershire County Cricket Club yesterday announced that it had agreed terms with Michael Klinger as Captain and overseas player for the 2013 season.  The 32-year-old South Australia batsman, who has also represented Victoria and Australia A, will join the Club for the start of the campaign and will be available for all three domestic competitions.

Michael told this website:  “I'm delighted to have signed for Gloucestershire Cricket for 2013 and 2014.  My long term ambition has been to play a full season of county cricket and as soon as I spoke to John Bracewell, it was clear that the opportunity to join GCCC was too good to turn down.

Joining as Club Captain is a huge honour for me and the challenge is one that excites me greatly.  The squad is a young but talented one with some experienced heads and I look forward to bringing the experience I have gained around the world in the likes of state cricket, Big Bash, IPL and Champions’ League to the squad.

I can't wait to join up with the guys in April and I hope we enjoy a successful season in 2013.”
