Michael Excels In Big Bash

28 January 2014

Michael Klinger finished with a healthy average of 44.6 as Adelaide Strikers bowed out of the Big Bash T20 tournament in Australia.

Although his team won only two of seven completed games, the Gloucestershire captain amassed 223 runs, with a top score of 86 not out against Perth Scorchers. Click here to see Michael in action.

Michael’s strike rate in the competition was 121.85. He hit 19 fours and 7 sixes and his run tally in the matches leading up to the semi-finals was bettered by only five players.

His innings against Perth saw him face only 55 balls and hit 5 fours and 4 sixes, suggesting he will be a real force for Gloucestershire during the NatWest T20 Blast in England this summer.

Michael missed one of the Strikers’ games with a hamstring problem, but was fit to return for their final match against the Melbourne Renegades.

The semi-finals of the Big Bash feature Melbourne Stars against the Hurricanes on February 4th and Sydney Sixers against Perth Scorchers the following day.
