Media Day Buzz

3 April 2019

The Bristol County Ground was the location for Gloucestershire Cricket media day as regional and local press took the opportunity to get a word in with the players just before the season kicks off on Friday.

Media Day signals the end of preparation before the beginning of the season and with that comes excitement and eager anticipation among the players, the coaches and all the staff here at Gloucestershire Cricket.

We were happy to welcome press from all across Gloucestershire and the West of England and give them the opportunity to get to speak to some of our players as well as get a look at our new look kits.

For the upcoming season, Bristol Energy will be our new Specsavers County Cricket jersey sponsor and we are happy to have Gem, Bath Ale’s flagship ale, as our back of jersey sponsor on all three kits.

There weren’t only reporters and photographers from various media outlets at The Bristol County Ground, we also invited along some university students from Gloucestershire University to give them the opportunity to experience our Media Day and give them the chance to interview Coach Richard Dawson and some of the players.

Captain Chris Dent was kept busy throughout the day and reporters were queueing up to speak to our latest signing, bowler Stuart Whittingham, “It’s a long day but it’s a great opportunity for us to talk to the press and try on all of our new kits for the season ahead.”

You can come and see the boys in action at our season opener which takes place on Friday, April 5th at The Bristol County Ground. We are up against Oxford MCCU in what will be a three day university match. Entrance to that game is free for everyone so get yourselves down here and be a part of it. #GoGlos.
