McCarter Shines In Second XI Defeat

Half-centuries from Graeme McCarter (pictured) and Will Tavare were not enough to save Gloucestershire from a 264-run defeat by Somerset in the four-day second XI game at Taunton Vale.
McCarter hit 55 and Tavare 56 in a second innings score of 310, but the visitors never recovered from being bowled out for 146 in their first innings, Ed Young top-scoring with 63.
Somerset had posted 373 in their first innings, Max Waller making 211 and McCarter claiming 4-68.
The hosts added 339-4 declared in their second innings, Tom Abell top-scoring with 138.
