Match preview | Glos v Leicestershire | Royal London Cup
16 August 2022
Gloucestershire return to Bristol to host Leicestershire at the Seat Unique Stadium in a hugely important fixture in the context of the Royal London Cup.
The top six in Group A are separated by just three points, with all of these teams still eyeing the knock-out stages.
Glos could leapfrog Leicestershire who currently sit second in the table, with a win on Wednesday.
The Shire’s outstanding 50-over form has seen them pick up six points from their last three fixtures, the most recent being a thrilling six-run victory against Durham at the Seat Unique Riverside.
Glos posted the highest List A score against Durham, setting the home side a record 368 to win. Chris Dent showed his class with 117 from 105 balls, his fifth List A century for Glos. Dent shared a 172 partnership for the second wicket with Marcus Harris (94) who fell narrowly short of his hundred.
Tom Price bounced back with the ball, taking 4/70 from his 10 overs. Price held his nerve in the final over, taking the prize wicket of Paul Coughlin who was caught behind by Bracey for 77 (38).
Zafar Gohar also picked up three crucial wickets during the middle overs finding a good amount of turn in what was otherwise a good batting surface at the Riverside.
Leicestershire inflicted a first defeat of the tournament on Warwickshire on Sunday, Louis Kimber, Wiaan Mulder and Harry Swindells scoring half-centuries for the Foxes on their way to a 131-run win.

Deal Benkenstein adds two names to his squad, with Will Naish and Ajeet Singh-Dale completing a 16-man squad for the final home fixture in the RL50 group stage.
Ajeet Singh-Dale could make his List A debut after returning from a side strain sustained versus Ireland A.
Seamers Dom Goodman, Paul van Meekeren, Josh Shaw and Jared Warner keep their place in a squad to be skippered by Jack Taylor.
Tom Smith's seven wickets and excellent economy rate of 5.06 in the competition so far see him keep his place.
A 19-ball cameo of 31* by Ollie Price against Durham proved hugely important in the context of the match and should see the 21-year-old keep his place in the middle order.
Opening batters Ben Wells and Ben Charlesworth also make The Shire squad.
