Marshall hits 180 in friendly T20 win over Somerset

Gloucestershire overcame Somerset in their opening T20 friendly match at Taunton by 80 runs – scoring 244-2.
Hamish Marshall was in great form and raced to his century off just 40 balls – he ended the innings on 180* which came off 70 balls and included 17 fours and 13 sixes.
When Somerset came into bat, Marcus Trescothick at first dominated proceedings and raced to 45 before he was caught at mid-wicket by Ian Cockbain in the 6th over with the total on 60.
Peter Trego then joined James Regan, who had moved onto 22, when he was bowled by Jack Taylor with the total on 84.
Trego then hit a boundary off Jack Taylor to bring Somerset onto three figures but was caught soon after at cover by Robbie Montgomery for 22.
Somerset were eventually bowled out for 164 off 18.3 overs.
In the second T20 friendly, Somerset were the victors wining by 8 runs.
The home side scored 186, and in a close finish Gloucestershire scored 178.
Marshall was once again the stand out player for Gloucestershire scoring 60.
