Marcus Harris reflects on his first season as a Gloucestershire player
16 September 2022
Australian opener Marcus Harris played his final Gloucestershire game of the season against Somerset, scoring 159 in the first innings to put Glos in control before rain ended all chances of a result on Day Four.
Harris will return to Melbourne before next week's fixture against Warwickshire at the Seat Unique Stadium but first spoke to Glos TV about his first season with the club.
One season into a two-year deal, Harris reflects on a difficult season for the club despite good personal performances.
The 30-year-old also looked forward to the 2023 season, discussed the prospects of young players, making Bristol his home, and his enjoyment of working with Head Coach Dale Benkenstein.
Harris said: “It’s been great to be in Bristol. We’ve had an up and down season but as it went on you could see the improvement in the team. There has been a great vibe around the team, especially in the last two months.
“There has been the challenge of playing in Division One and seeing how some of the other teams go about it, but I have seen the growth through the team throughout the season which has been really enjoyable.”
