Liam swaps Cricket for Coffee at Boston Tea Party

7 February 2014

Gloucestershire Cricket’s, Liam Norwell, today completed a 4-week Work Experience programme at the Bristol Boston Tea Party café on Gloucester Road.  Before he left, several members of the office staff went down this morning to try out a cup of coffee.  We were very impressed!  The coffee was delicious and Liam even managed to make each cup with an individual motif - highlighting some of the Barista skills he has picked up over the past few weeks.

In finishing his last shift, Liam said: “I've really enjoyed my experience at Boston Tea Party over the last 4 weeks.  I've learnt a huge amount about the coffee trade, from making all different varieties of drink to just how much work goes into making a café run smoothly.  After this experience, setting up my own coffee shop is definitely something I'd be interested in pursuing after my cricket career is over.  A huge thank you to everyone at Boston Tea Party for giving me the opportunity to learn and for helping me so much over the past few weeks.”

Lizzie Archer, Gloucestershire Cricket’s Corporate Sales Manager added: “Planning for a future career after professional cricket is really important.  We appreciate the support from our partners and sponsors who can help in this preparation and Boston Tea Party were able to provide this fantastic opportunity for Liam to learn about the whole process of their trade.”
