Liam Norwell signs until end of 2018 season
19 October 2016
Gloucestershire Cricket are delighted to announce that Liam Norwell has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 24 year old who made his debut in the 2011 season has signed an extended contract until the end of the 2018 season.
Norwell, who took 39 wickets in the Specsavers County Championship in 2016 at an average of 29.92 also made history with the bat during the 2016 season. Against Derbyshire at The Brightside Ground, Norwell completed his maiden hundred, and became the first night watchman in Gloucestershire’s history to pass three figures.
Liam Norwell said "I'm really happy to have signed an extension with Gloucestershire Cricket, it's a club I love playing for and it's a great changing room to be a part of.” “I believe as a group of players we're on the verge of something special and I look forward to being a part of it."
Speaking on the contract extension, Gloucestershire Chief Executive Will Brown said: “Liam has established himself as a fantastic player for Gloucestershire and following a break-through red-ball season in 2015 he continues to improve, playing some quality white ball cricket and also having the potential to frustrate bowlers as his night-watchman century against Derbyshire in 2016 showed.
"Liam choosing to extend his contract is great news for the Club and we look forward to more great cricket over the next couple of years.”
