Klinger Riding High In MVP Rankings

25 July 2013

Michael Klinger's excellent first season as a Gloucestershire player is reflected in the latest 'Most Valuable Player' ratings compiled on behalf of the Professional Cricketers Association.

The skipper will go into tomorrow night's sell-out Friends Life t20 clash with Somerset at Bristol ranked as high as third in the MVP list for that competition.

Only David Willey of Northants and Derbyshire's Wes Durston have collected more points than Michael, who has scored 278 runs in eight T20 games at an average of 46.33.

He has also moved into the top ten of Most Valuable Players in all forms of cricket this summer, with an LV=County Championship run tally of 803 at an average of more than 50.

Michael is also averaging more than 60 in the Yorkshire Bank 40 competition where he has amassed 309 runs in seven games.
