Klinger named Scorchers fans' player of the year

Run machine Michael Klinger has been voted as the Perth Scorchers fans’ Player of the Season for the 2016/17 season.
Klinger won the vote after a tight battle with resurgent left-arm speedster Mitchell Johnson from Scorchers’ fans on the Club’s Facebook page.
All-rounder Ashton Agar, wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Whiteman and big-hitter Mitchell Marsh were next on the list.

Klinger, 36, finished the Big Bash League (BBL) season fourth in the overall scoring charts with 334 runs at an average of 37.11.
The last couple of weeks has been a big one for Klinger who scored 71no in the BBL Final and won his maiden Australia call-up.
Gloucestershire fast bowler Andrew Tye is a past winner of the fan-voted award.
