Kit Drop & Swap is back!
29 October 2024
Gloucestershire Cricket is excited to announce the return of our hugely successful Kit Drop & Swap event for 2024.
Now in its fourth year, the Kit Drop & Swap initiative is a chance to donate any unwanted kit to support clubs and players throughout Bristol and surrounding areas. The drop event will take place from Monday 18th November to Friday 22nd November at the home of Gloucestershire Cricket, Seat Unique Stadium, Nevil Road. If you’d like to donate kit, you can do so by visiting the Club Reception 9am-5pm on any of these dates.
The swap event will then take place on Saturday 23rd November between 9am and 12pm in the Jessop Room on the ground floor of the Bristol Pavilion at the Seat Unique Stadium. Anyone wishing to attend the swap event will be entitled to claim a maximum of 10 items per person.
An annual event, the Club’s Kit drop & Swap see hundreds of items of unwanted sports clothing, equipment and shoes donated to go to a new home. As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, the initiative aims to help those not in a position to purchase new equipment to obtain new kit for the 2025 season.
Pete Lamb, Head of Community at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: “Kit Drop & Swap has gone from strength to strength over the last three years, making a real difference to people’s lives and helping to break down the financial barriers that often prevent young people from fully accessing cricket.
“We’d like to encourage anyone who does have unwanted kit, from all sports, to drop it in to the us at the Seat Unique Stadium to help us recycle and reuse as much good quality equipment as possible.”
Gloucestershire Cricket's talent pathway teams and local clubs in Bristol and Gloucestershire will be invited to participate in the event by encouraging all players to donate their old kit and equipment.
Kit Drop & Swap is open and available to everyone of all ages, acting as an opportunity to swap old kit and get something ‘new’.
