Kent win T20 clash at Canterbury

Kent batted marginally better of the two sides on a tricky Canterbury pitch to beat the Gloucestershire team by 21 runs and record their second NatWest T20 Blast win in the competition.
Kent skipper Rob Key won the toss and elected to bat on a slow track and it was Key who led from the front as he hit 24 off 21 balls. But, Kent didn’t make the most of their powerplay overs, though, scoring only 43 from the allotted six.
In only his 17th T20 appearance, Kent's rookie offspinner Adam Riley proved the unlikely hero with some superb fielding at cover and bagging competition-best figures of 4 for 22 - including the scalp of Gloucestershire's Hamish Marshall. Kent finished on 136 - 7
Gloucestershire, with one win and a defeat in their two previous matches, made a steady start to their run-chase of 137 but spinner Adam Riley's 4-22 put them in trouble. With the reliable Michael Klinger (25) and Hamish Marshall (26) dismissed, the team were unable to recover and ended short on 115-9, Kent winning by 21 runs.
