James Bracey selected in IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year
5 October 2022
Gloucestershire’s James Bracey is rewarded after a fine season with selection in the IG PCA Men’s Team of the Year.
Recognised for his performances with the bat and behind the stumps, Bracey joins an illustrious list of names and features in the Team of the Year for the first time in his career.
25-year-old Bracey has scored 1,294 runs across all formats for Glos this season, including three centuries and six fifties.
A career-best 177 against Yorkshire at the Seat Unique Stadium in April followed a 117 against Northants and ensured Bracey hit the ground running in the 2022 season.
A magnificent 104* against Notts Outlaws in the Royal London Cup flipped Glos’ 50-over season on its head as Gloucestershire went on to win five out of eight RLC matches, narrowly missing out on qualification through NRR.
Selected as the team’s wicketkeeper, Gloucestershire’s vice-captain was the highest placed outright keeper in the country, amassing 93 fielding points in the organisation’s MVP scoring system.
Steve Snell, Performance Director at Gloucestershire Cricket, said: "James' wicketkeeping over the course of the season was of an extremely high standard, he took to the field for almost every game that Gloucestershire played, again drawing reference to his robust phyiscal nature. He has shown consistent performances with bat and ball, and I'm hugely delighted that James has received this recognition and I'm excited to see more of the same from him next season."
