Jack Claims Two Before Final Day Washout

27 March 2014

Jack Taylor claimed two wickets as Gloucestershire dismissed Worcestershire for 206 on the second day of the friendly match at Bristol.

The off-spinner, who has remodelled his action after being suspended by the ECB last season, dismissed Gareth Andrew and Brett D’Oliveira as the hosts earned a first innings lead of 147.

Taylor finished with 2-39 from 13.5 overs to suggest he is on the way back after passing the necessary ECB testing procedure in February.

Gloucestershire declared on their overnight score of 353-5, with Hamish Marshall and Gareth Roderick unbeaten on 83 and 71 respectively.

There followed another impressive performance by the bowling unit as Worcestershire were forced to crawl along for most of an innings that spanned 80.5 overs.

Liam Norwell (2-20), Matt Taylor (2-37) and Tom Smith (2-50) were also among the wickets.

Norwell was the pick of the seamers with 2-20 from 11 overs, while 19-year-old Tom Kohler-Cadmore top scored for Worcestershire with 63.

The final day's play was virtually washed out, the rain settling in after only one ball had been bowled by Gareth Andrew to Chris Dent.

The umpires abandoned any hope of a resumption at 2pm with the outfield waterlogged.
