ICC Women's World Cup 2017 in Bristol

On Wednesday 7 December, Gloucestershire Cricket Chief Executive, Will Brown, was joined at the Brightside Ground, Bristol by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Bristol, Cllr. Christopher Davies BEM and his wife, Mrs Susan Davies, to promote the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup.
Gloucestershire Cricket is delighted to be hosting 8 matches here in Bristol including the Semi-Final which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday 18 July. Tickets for this Semi-Final can be purchased from the ICC website here.
The 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup is an International tournament to be played in England from 26 June to 23 July 2017. It will be the eleventh edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, and the third to be held in England (after the 1973 and 1993 tournaments). Eight teams will qualify to participate in the tournament.
The four teams to have already qualified are:
- Australia
- England
- West Indies
- New Zealand
Australia was the first team to qualify after a 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka in the ICC Women’s Championship. England was next to qualify after beating Sri Lanka by 122 runs in their second One-Day International in Colombo. West Indies and New Zealand shortly followed after defeating India and South Africa respectively for the third and fourth qualifying spots.
