27 October 2017

Benny Howell is all set to play for the Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for the second time.

The 29-year-old – who had a great T20 campaign with Gloucestershire, taking 16 wickets and scoring 235 runs in the process will be flying out to Bangladesh to join the Titan squad on Sunday 29 October.

Benny will be hoping to feature for the Titans in their first match against Dhaka Dynamites on Saturday 4 November.

The 29 year old will line up alongside the likes of West Indies all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite and England batsman Dawid Malan for the Titans. His opponents will include the likes of Shane Watson, Shahid Afridi and Kumar Sangakkara.

Benny expressed his excitement to play for the Titans for a second successive year. He said, "We have a new coach in Mahela Jayawardene leading us which is really exciting and I can't wait to get going. With this being my second stint in the BPL, I now know what to expect in terms of routine, playing conditions which will make things easier."

On the hopes for the Titans and beyond "I want to go out to Bangladesh and win the tournament. There is no reason why we can't be successful and at least reach the final."

"On a personal level, I want to show what I can do and hopefully that will lead to recognition on an international level."

The Khulna Titans will play 12 matches in total. The final group match will take place on Tuesday 5 December.

The grand final will take place on Tuesday 12 December in Dhaka.
