Director of Cricket John Bracewell told this website: "Cameron will have an operation on Thursday and faces a similar period on the sidelines as Gareth Roderick has with his broken finger."
Michael Klinger's foot injury, sustained in the NatWest T20 Blast game against Hampshire at Southampton last Friday, has been confirmed as a broken toe.
John Bracewell added: "X-rays have shown a break, but we are not yet certain how bad it is or how long Michael will be out of action."
Meanwhile, Gloucestershire's bowlers faced another day of toil on the third day against Glamorgan, who ran up 569-7 by the close to lead by 178.
The Welsh county plan to bat on for a short period in the morning before trying to put their hosts under pressure with the ball.
