Gloucestershire groundstaff Sean Williams and Meg Lay have been recognised at the 2023 Grounds Manager of the Year Awards.
Shire's Head Groundsperson, Sean Williams, was presented with retrospective recognition for delivering the England Women vs India Women’s Test match in 2021 at the ECB-led awards ceremony on Wednesday evening.
Meg Lay, meanwhile, was handed a Special Recognition Award for the incredible part she played in leading the all-female ground staff who produced the pitch for the England Women’s Ashes T20 at Edgbaston in July. While Meg led the team, it was made up of professional female groundstaff from across the country in what was a first for the professional game.
Everyone at Gloucestershire would like to congratulate both Meg and Sean, and take this opportunity to once again thank the whole Gloucestershire groundstaff for their continued dedication and hard work at the Seat Unique Stadium.
