Gloucestershire welcome Aussie Test Star Cowan
5 July 2012
The weather is currently dry and overcast, with no rain forecast for today and this evening, so come along and support the Gloucestershire Gladiators as they welcome Australian Test batsman, Ed Cowan, for tonight’s remaining home Friends Life t20 group match against the Worcestershire Royals. Match commences at 5.30 pm. It will also be the last chance to see Muttiah Muralitharan in action.
Cowan will then feature in the remaining FLt20 games away at Edgbaston on Friday and Northamptonshire on Sunday.
The 30-year-old Tasmania left-hander has been brought into the squad to fill the gap between Kane Williamson leaving Gloucestershire and New Zealander Rob Nicol arriving later this month.
He will then play in the LV=County Championship match against Essex at the Brewin Dolphin Cheltenham Cricket Festival and the Clydesdale Bank 40 games against Essex and Worcestershire which follow before Nicol arrives for the Championship game with Leicestershire at the College Ground, starting on July 18.
Tickets for tonight's match are available on the gate priced at £20 for adults and £10 for the under 16’s.
